Der wahre Sabbath - Gleiwitz, Germany, 1842 - Against the First Reforms who Wanted to Transfer the Sabbath to Sunday - Rare

The author: Rabbi Jacob Hirsch Jacobson (1811-1885).

Published by G. Neumann in Gleiwitz.

At the beginning of the 19th century, an offer was made to "move" Sabbath to Sunday like the Christians.

The booklet before us was designated to strengthen the status of the "true Sabbath" as the title says.

The book was written in German so it could be read by many circles of people and not only at the Beit Midrash.

On the inner binding, a sticker: "Seminar – Bibliothek" (the library of the rabbinical seminar of Berlin) and a serial number. On page 2, an ink stamp: "BIBLIOTHEK Rabbiner – Seminars Berlin".

The book is bibliographically important too: only three books have ever been printed in Gleiwitz. The book before us is the first of them.

26 pp. 18x12 cm.

Condition: Good.
