The Establishment of Moshav Tal Shachar - Large Photograph from the Day the Settlement was Founded During the War of Independence - A Gate in Honor of the Tractor - 1948
The photograph depicts soldiers of the IDF standing in a formation with their weapons beside a gate of honor, with a tractor in the horizon approaching it. Two flags of Israel fly at the two sides of the gate.
Moshav Tal Shachar was founded during the War of Independence as part of a plan to establish 32 new settlements which were strategically significant. Tal Shachar was established due to its location on the route to Jerusalem on the lands of an Arab village that had been abandoned by its residents during the war.
The Moshav was established by new immigrants from Turkey, Kurdistan, Morocco and Persia.
The photograph reflects the sense of greatness and hope felt by founders of the settlement.
