Letter in the Handwriting of the Rishon Le'Zion the "Yissa Beracha" to the Clerks and Administrators of Amsterdam - Signatures and the Royal Stamp - Jerusalem,1885
A letter of greetings to the important clerks of the Fund for the Poor of the Land of Israel in Amsterdam. Among others, the Rabbi writes that he has accepted the request of Rabbi Yitzchak Bamberger to give a lesson for the ascent of the soul of Rabbi Yisrael Zvi.
The complete letter is handwritten by the Rishon Le'Zion with his curly signature: "the young Ya'akov Saul Elyashar …"
With the royal stamp in three languages: Arabic, Hebrew and English. The stamp is in green ink.
Handwritten letters by the "Yissa Beracha" are rare.
Rabbi Ya'akov Saul Elyashar (1817-1906), one of the greatest rabbis of Jerusalem. The Rishon Le'Zion since 1893. Rabbi Elyashar wrote thousands of responses to questions from Ashkenazim and Sephardim throughout the world and corresponded with Rabbi Yosef Chaim, the "Ben Ish Chai". He wrote many books, among the "Yissa Beracha" Responsa, "Olat Ish", "Yissa Ish", "Ish Emunim" and more.
