Shiv'im Tikunei Ha'Zohar - Amsterdam, 1706
Shiv'im Tikunei Ha'Zohar "compiled by the G-dly Mishnaic sage Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai", with the commentary "Chemdat Zvi" by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Chatsch. Amsterdam, 1706.
On the book's title page is an impressive etching – a picture of two deer holding a crown with the words "G-d of Hosts shall be a crown of beauty [lit. deer-zvi] and a diadem of glory" (a Sabbatean symbol. Refer: A. Ya'ari, Diglei HaMadpisim Ha'Ivriim, p. 57 and pp. 154-155).
The only edition in which the commentary "Chemdat Zvi" was printed.
The book caused extensive controversy, partly due to an argument over the exactness of the version of the work "Shiv'im Tikunei HaZohar", so much so that Rabbi Naftali Katz, author of "Semichat Chachamim", who wrote one of the approbations for the book, regretted having given his approbation.
At the beginning of the book is "Klalim Al Divrei HaKabbalah", and at the end a poem from the author of the commentary.
8, 164 leaves.
32.5cm.
Condition: Good-Very Good. Impressive copy. The title page is almost completely whole.
