Chidushei Ha'Rashba on the Beitza Tractate. Lemberg, 1847. First edition.
On the title page and leaf 36, inscriptions and a dedication in the handwriting of Rabbi Yosef Zundel of Salant to the Beit Midrash "Menachem Zion" in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Zundel was one of the greatest disciples of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. Th efounder of the Mussar movement. The rabbi of Rabbi Yisrael of Salant. He immigrated to Jerusalem in 1838 and became the leader and head of the Prushim community. Due to his great modesty, he refused to accept an official religious position. He served however as the Gabai of the library of the "Menachem Zion" Beit Midrash, whoch was the center of prayer and study of the Prushim rabbis in Jerusalem.
