Tur Choshen Mishpat – Königsberg, 1861 – Stamps of Rabbi Avraham Azriel and Glosses in His Handwriting
Araba'ah Turim. Königsberg, 1861. Important edition printed by Rabbi Zerach ben Rabbi Binyamin Diskin Av Beit Din Horodna, the bother of the Maharil Diskin. The proofreader is rabbi Ya;akov Bachrach, who corrected many mistakes that appeared in previous editions and reedited the glosses of the Tosfot Yom Tov.
Before us are two sections of Choshen Mishpat (in two volumes).
On the title page of the first section, long, handwritten inscriptions that indicate that the book had belonged to Rabbi Mordechai Eliezer Weber (1825-1892), the disciple of the "Divrei Chaim" of Sanz. Served as a rabbi abroad in various communities of Hungary. Immigrated to Jerusalem in circa 1875. His interesting books were approbated by the Maharil Diskin. They contain many polemic letters against those who disagree with the rulings of his rabbi and teacher, the Rebbe, author of the Divrei Chaim.
Stamps of the kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Azriel (1862-1947), one of the most prominent Sephardic rabbis of Jerusalem, Rosh Av Beit Din of the Sepahrdic community of Jerusalem. Published the books of his father, the Rishon Le'Zion Rabbi Aharon Azriel, author of "Kapei Aharon". Short glosses and lingual corrections in his handwriting.
Condition: good. Original covers, slightly worn. The front cover of th second section is detached.
