The book Or Zarua, by Rabbi Yitzchak son of Rabbi Moshe from Vienna. Two parts bound together, each one has its own title page:
a. Part three. Baba Kama, Baba Metzia and Baba Batra. Edited and published by Rabbi Binyamin Posen. With glosses of Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hirschenson of Jerusalem. Jerusalem, 1887. Rabbi Chaim Hirschenson Printing Press.
Approbations of great scholars, amongst them Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor, Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer, Rabbi Shmuel Salant and Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hirschenson.
b. Part four. Sanhedrin and Avoda Zara. Edited and published by Rabbi Binyamin Posen. With glosses of Rabbi Chaim Hirschenson of Jerusalem. Jerusalem, 1890. Rabbi Chaim Hirschenson Printing Press.
Before us is a rare edition, in which at the end of tractate Avoda Zara on the last page, is printed an impressive illustration which depicts the establishing of the Temple ("the house which Shlomo built was built of stone finished at the quarry"), which does not exist in all of the copies. The illustration is faded and blurred.
Rare!
[2], 40; [1], 36; [2], 40 pages.
Condition: Good. Tears on the title page. Brittle and fragile pages, with tears (mostly small) as a result.
