* Report of the committee of inquiry "appointed by the High Chancellor of Palestine to study the riots in Jaffa in May 1921." Rare, comprehensive study of the committee of inquiry established by Herbert Samuel after the riots of 1921. They started in Jaffa on May 1, 1921, and spread to other Jewish communities. 47 Jews were killed and 140 wounded during these riots. The committee of inquiry changed British policy and prompted the withdrawal of their commitment to establish a Jewish national homeland as promised in the Balfour Declaration, in order to placate the Arabs.[2] leaves, 44 pages; 36 cm. Stains on the leaves, the jacket title page is disconnected and torn on its back section. Fine to moderate condition. Very rare.
