Touching Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Leiter Av Beit Din of Pressburg, Addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna - Pittsburgh, 1939

Touching letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Leiter Av Beit Din of Pressburg and author of Shut Beir David, addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna, the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron, with overtones of the Arab riots in Eretz Yisrael  - Pittsburgh, 1939.

The beginning of the letter discusses donations that were sent from Pittsburgh to the Hebron Yeshiva. Then, Rabbeinu inquires as to the health of the Rosh Yeshiva out of a genuine concern of a Jew in the USA whose heart lies with Zion: "יודיעני נא שלומו וטובותו ויכול אני לשער היסורים והפחד שעברו עליו בזמן האחרון השם ירחם... שארית הפליטה" (Please inform me how he is doing I can only imagine the agony and fear he has experienced recenetly... She'erit Hapletah).

Those days were the height of the Arab Revolt in Plaestine during which approx. 400 Jews were killed.
