Basic Book: First Edition of Shut HaBach - Frankfurt am Main, 1697
Shut HaBach by Rabbi Yosef Sirkish, one of the commentators of the Tur Beit Yosef and the Bach - First edition, Frankfurt am Main, 1697. [6], 106 leaves. 2 leaves at the end of the book are missing, not of the text of the work itself. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod no. 299.
In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection.
The book was approbated by Rabbi Yaakof Sassportas Av Beit Din of the Sephardic community of Amsterdam and Rabbi Yosef Shaul, Av Beit Din of Frankfurt.
The book contains responsum 5, which was ripped from most copies and which contains Rabbeinu's words:
"המלעיג על דברי חכמים ומדבר דופי על חכמת הקבלה שהוא מקור התורה ועיקרה וכולה יראת שמים דפשיטא דחייב נידוי".
Some moth damage and perforations. Stains. Unravelled spine. Some restorations and taping. Good overall condition.
On the title page, an ancient signature - has not been studied.
