Complete Set in Leather-Covered Wooden Bindings with Remnants of Buckles - The Basic Edition of the Rif of Our Generation Amsterdam 1720

A complete set including all sections of Hilchot Rav Alfas on the Shas by Rabbeinu Yitzchak Alfasi, an edition based on the Sabbioneta 1554 edition, with many additions that constitute the base for most editions of the Rif that were subsequently printed, headed by the Vilna edition, which remained the basic edition to this day. Printed by Yosef Dayan ben Shimon Akiva Ber, Amsterdam 1720. In the National Library, the book appears in the collection of rare books. See: Stefanski Sifrei Yessod p. 47. 

The series originally contained three sections. In this copy, each section was divided into two volumes, apparently, due to their size, see below. A fine set with wide margins. Moth perforations and some moth damage. Stains and varied blemishes Good general condition. Original, leather-covered wooden bindings with remnants of metal buckles. One of the sections has a slightly different binding and its spine is later. It also has detached leaves. 

Section I: [3], 2-77; 88. [4] 89-108, [1], 109-303 leaves. In the second volume, the title page and approbations were re-added, although originally they appeared only one ay the beginning of this section. 

Section II: [Seder Nashim and Masechet Chulin] [2], 41, 41-42, 42-203. 204-251, [1], 252-317; 20 leaves. 6 leaves 40 leaves: table (abbreviation) of all the Dinim appearing in Rav Alfas and Mordechai (Chikur Dinim). The second volume of this section contains a special title page for Masechet Chulin. 

Section III: [Seder Nezukun]. 153. 154-377 leaves.
