Yafeh Mar’eh, commentaries and chiddushim on agadot of the Yerushalmi, by Rabbi Shmuel Yafeh Ashkenazi (1525-1595), Rabbi of the Ashkenazi community in the Ottoman Empire, author of the foundational commentary to Midrash Raba, Yafeh To’ar.
First edition from the author’s lifetime, printed by Juan di Gara, Venice 1590. 331 leaves. Stefanski Sifrei Yesod p. 40 (in the notes).
Catalogued as rare by the NLI. The back of the title page has a pretty engraving of the publisher, Rabbi Asher Forinz.
Later binding, repaired title page, tape to additional leaves, a few bits of worming damage and holes, overall condition of most of the obok is good.
