Colorful, handsome shiviti illustrated by hand on glass. Jerusalem 1891.
With a LaMenatze’ach menorah, verses and angelic names. At the center of the illustration are colorful drawings of plants and flowers and more. In some letters composing G-d’s name, the artist used different colors, seemingly so as not to write G-d’s name in full. During the Ottoman period artists like Moshe Mizrahi and more began the technique of illustrating from the back on glass. The Shiviti before us was done by Yosef HaLevi, on the reverse side is a dedication. Very good condition, size: 29x38cm, Jerusalem, 1891.
