Chiddushim on the Torah, Rambam and masechtos in Shas by the Admor Rabbi Meir, son of the Admor Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, author of Kedushas Levi.

It is rare to find both volumes of this sefer, which were printed in two separate years and places, as a single, complete set.

Both volumes of Keser Torah open with chiddushim relayed by the author’s father Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev and his paternal grandfather Rabbi Meir, Av Beis Din of Hoskav. The author’s subsequent chiddushim reference the teachings of the eminent progenitors of Chassidus, among them the Baal Shem Tov, Maggid of Mezritch, Admor Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl, and include quotes from the sefarim of the Noam Elimelech and Ohr Hachaim.

The Admor Rabbi Meir of Berditchev (d. 1806) was an illustrious tzaddik, the son and prime disciple of his father the Admor Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, and a student of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Chernobyl (see Vol. 1 leaf 32b: “I heard from the tzaddik R’ Nachum in the name of the tzaddik the Baal Shem Tov”).

Rabbi Meir passed away during his father’s lifetime, and Chassidic lore relates that Rabbi Levi Yitzchak escorted his son’s aron to the cemetery joyful in the knowledge that he was restoring the precious soul that he’d received as a deposit from the heavens with the same purity that he’d received it.

Vol. 2 features the autograph of Rabbi Menachem Nachum Delgach of Berditchev-Kishinov, a prominent chassid of the Admor Ohr Yisrael of Sadigura.
