Seder Mishnah
Seder Mishnah by Rabbi Wolf Boskowitz is one of the fundamental sefarim on the Rambam and encompasses all sections of the Yad Hachazakah. Rabbi Betzalel Ronsburg praised this work as “There is no other work like it, that covers every single chapter and halachah in all sections of the Rambam.”

Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer, author of Yalkut Eliezer, who saw the original handwritten manuscript urged the public to publish it, as he inscribed at the end of his preface to Sefer Hakaneh (Pest, 1867), “I declare my grief in public…The greatness of the genius, Rabbi of Yisrael, Rabbi Wolf Boskowitz zt”l is known throughout the world, and we saw wonders in his sefer Seder Mishnah on Sefer Hamada, and this Torah work lays [unpublished]… With my eyes, I read great compositions; manuscripts in his holy hand in the city of Pest…My soul will rejoice if I shall have the privilege, that in my merit it will be brought to print.”

The first volume of Seder Mishnah was published in Prague in 1820, and additional volumes were printed throughout the coming years. Volume 1 features a broad range of letters of approbation by many distinguished Rabbanim who all praise both the author and his work, among them Rabbi Mordechai Banet, the Chasam Sofer, the Baruch Taam, author of Shemen Rokeach and others.

He was renowned in his lifetime as one of the geniuses of his generation, and he served as Av Beis Din in the cities of Assad, Prostitz, Kelin, Bonyhad and others. During his youth in Prostitz, the Chasam Sofer made the acquaintance of Rabbi Wolf and as he recounts in his approbation to the sefer Maamar Esther, “I know and I’ve witnessed the sparks of fire that emerged from his mouth for several years during my residence in Prostitz, where he revealed to me his mighty hand and outstretched arm to elucidates the verses of the holy works and sayings of Chazal in a way that is understood by all…His words which enter a listening heart have caused many to repent from sin and returned them to Hashem.

When I heard, I marveled, ‘There has never been one like this.’” (Chasam Sofer)
