Sefer Yesod
Rishonim!

Daas Zekenim al HaTorah. First Edition. Livorno, 1783

Two primary works by Rishonim

1. Daas Zekenim by the Baalei Tosfos
2. Minchas Yehudah by Rabbi Yehuda ben Rabbi Eliezer, the Riva

The Riva authored his sefer Minchas Yehudah in year 1313. In it, he cites many of his contemporary sages as well as sages from prior eras, most prominently Rabbi Moshe of Coucy, author of the Sefer Mitzvos Hagadol (Smag).

Just as there are numerous compilations of the writings of the Baalei Tosfos on Shas, there are likewise extensive collections and commentaries by the Baalei Tosfos on the Torah, the most famous among them being Daas Zekenim, which has been printed in many editions of Mikraos Gedolos.

The work is published by Rabbi Yaakov Nunis Vais, an Italian sage, who printed it along with his own chiddushim and references to Rashi and the Re’em, which he named Afar Yaakov. Rabbi Yaakov Nunis Vais possessed a handwritten manuscript of kabbalistic commentary on the Torah by the famed kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zacuto, the Ramaz, which he printed for the very first time in this sefer.

Livorno, 1783. First edition. Page Count: [9], 90, 29 leaves. Page size: 28.5 cm. Description: Endorsements by the Chida and Italian Schlores. Sefer Afar Yaakov has a separate title page. Binding: New half-leather binding. Condition: Good. Bibliography:
