Impressive Torah anthology

Contains 14 different books.

Yad Kol Bo. Singular Edition. Frankfurt am Main, 1725

Thick, heavy volume encompassing 14 (numerical equivalent of the Hebrew יד [yad]) works of Mikra and prayers with assorted commentaries. Particularly notable is the Pischei She’arim commentary on the siddur and Selichos, printed for the first time as a part of this sefer.

Yad Kol Bo is regarded as one of the most impressive Torah and prayer anthologies ever printed. The sefer was printed by Rabbi Pesachya Lida ben Rabbi Dovid Lida and his brother-in-law Rabbi Moshe Mireles. The latter was the son of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Mireles, Av Beis Din of Hamburg and father-in-law of the Chacham Tzvi.

The Yad Kol Bo anthology includes a Chamishah Chumshei Torah (Tikkun Sofrim) with Oneklus’ translation, Rashi’s commentary and the Migdal Dovid commentary by Rabbi Dovid Lida, and Haftaros with a new commentary.

The next section is a siddur and machzor for the whole year in Ashkenazic-Polish rite. The siddur includes Selichos, piyyutim, Maaravos and Yotzros, Tikkunei Shabbos, Hoshanos, seder Shomrim Laboker and Tikkun Leil Shavuos. All of the above prayers are accompanied by the Pischei Shearim commentary printed here for the first time and include laws of prayers and Kabbalistic intentions.

The third and fourth sections are a Tehillim with the Asara Hilulum commentary, an anthology of ten commentaries in and of itself, and a Haggadah with instructions and piyyutim in Yiddish.

The next units included in Yad Kol Bo are the sefarim Shaarei Tziyon, Kitzur Shl”a and the works of Rabbi Dovid Lida, among them Sod Hashem and Sharvit Hazahav on ritual circumcision; Ir Miklat on the 613 mitzvos, Migdal Dovid on Rashi’s commentary (with supplements by Rabbi Moshe Neimark), and Shomer Shabbos on laws and tikkunim of Shabbos.

The sefer opens with two title pages, one fully illustrated with numerous historical figures, and the other listing all 14 works included in the anthology.
With approbations by several prominent Rabbanim, including the authors of Pnei Yehoshua, Shav Yaakov and Knesses Yechezkel.

Frankfurt am Main, 1727. First and singular edition. Page Count: [2], 94, 59; 4, [2], 5-74, 34; 56; 40 leaves. Page Size: 34 cm. Condition: Margins of both title pages lightly restored; stained, signs of use. Original binding - worn. Owners’ signatures.
