Rental Contract of the Admor Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar upon His Arrival in Yerushalayim after the Holocaust. Jerusalem, 1946
Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum arrived in Switzerland on the 21st of Kislev in the year 1945. After a few months of recuperation, he left Switzerland for Eretz Yisrael, spent a year in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood and then moved to America.
This contract was for a rental apartment in Kiryat Moshe during the summer months that was meant to provide the Admor with time to recuperate. In those times, it was common for Admorim to vacation in Kiryat Moshe, which was a short but significant distance from the bustling city.
The contract was signed in June 1946.
Jerusalem, 1946. Page size: 23x22 cm. The body of the contract is typewritten with handwritten signatures.
