Drashos and commentary on parshiyos and aggados by Rabbi Berachia Beirach Shapira, Dayan of Cracow during the times of the Bach and the Tosafos Yom Tov.

Includes sefer Ateres Tzvi - chiddushim of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh, son-in-law of the Tosfos Yom Tov.

Sefer Zera Beirach is an important work of drush, many of the teachings mentioned in this sefer were frequently quoted in the sefarim of other gedolim.

All existent sefarim printed in Poland before the Cossack rebellion of 1648-49(גזירת ת”ח ות”ת) in which the jewish communities in Poland were horrifically destroyed are known to be very rare. This intact first edition is exceptionally rare.

Rabbi Berachia Beirach Shapira was a disciple of the kabbalist Rabbi Nosson Shapira, author of Megaleh Amukos. He was a dayan and a lecturer of Torah in the Cracow community at a time when the city boasted Torah geniuses. Toward the end of his life he left Cracow for Eretz Yisrael, but died en route in the city of Constantinople on the 19th of Elul 1666.

Ateres Tzvi-Chiddushei Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh, son-in-law of the Tosafos Yom Tov

The author incorporates chiddushim of his brother-in-law Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh under the title Ateres Tzvi. Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh died at a young age and did not leave behind any offspring. (See the approbation of the Tosfos Yom Tov, and the author’s introduction.)

Professional restoration of some margins, including restorations for some text on a few pages (58-62). Several pages cropped until the edge of the text with all text intact.
